Sarah began piano at eleven and started formal vocal training at thirteen, eventually earning a bachelor of music degree in vocal performance with piano proficiency. She has taught private piano and voice for about two years and brings a mix of varied teaching experiences to her approach. Her background also includes two years as the keyboard player in a progressive metal band. She received a college talent scholarship that covered her degree.
In lessons, Sarah focuses on creating a comfortable, welcoming environment where students feel supported and free to explore. She takes time to learn each student’s interests and goals, shaping lessons around skills that build on one another while keeping things engaging. Ear training games, musical variety, and positive reinforcement help students stay curious, confident, and excited about what they discover each week.
Sarah is a lifelong learner who loves meeting new people, exploring fresh experiences, and listening to music with great songwriting and vocal artistry. She enjoys artists like Vienna Teng, Nightwish, and Lady Gaga, and spending time outdoors is especially meaningful to her. She fully embraces the saying that there is no bad weather, only unsuitable clothing.
