Madison Corkill began her musical journey with piano lessons in second grade and picked up the trumpet in fifth grade. From that point on, she was deeply involved in band through high school and college. She earned her Bachelor’s in Music Education from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL, where she was a member of the Marching Southerners for four years, played cornet in the award-winning brass band, and participated in multiple trumpet ensembles. Her experiences have given her a strong foundation in both advanced trumpet performance and beginning piano instruction.
Madison believes the most important part of music lessons is having fun. While hard work and stepping outside of comfort zones are essential for growth, she emphasizes that music-making should always be an enjoyable experience. In her teaching, she creates a safe and encouraging space where students can feel comfortable making mistakes, knowing that no musician is perfect. With her supportive approach, she helps students build confidence while developing their musical skills.
Outside of music, Madison loves spending time with her two cats, Nova and Rubi, who share her love of house plants (though mostly as snacks). She is a big fan of Taylor Swift, fantasy novels, and trying new foods. In her free time, she enjoys binging Netflix shows and making music with her friends. Her warm personality and wide range of interests allow her to connect with students in meaningful and authentic ways.
