Lawson Feltman

Music Teacher

With over 30 years of experience playing guitar, Lawson brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to his lessons. He began his musical journey self-teaching through a VHS tape ordered from MTV, which sparked his lifelong love for music. Lawson eventually studied with a range of talented musicians and earned a degree in music theory and composition from Brown University. He has been teaching for over five years and specializes in guitar (advanced), ukulele, and beginner piano.

Lawson’s teaching philosophy revolves around inspiring students to practice daily and to engage with the music they love. By focusing on learning songs that excite his students, Lawson helps them quickly achieve their musical goals, whether they’re tackling their favorite tunes or building a strong foundation for future musical growth.

A fan of all genres, Lawson loves blues, jazz, rock, classical, country, and experimental music, and he strives to bring this broad musical knowledge into his teaching. Outside of music, Lawson is a proud father to two young daughters, and enjoys cooking and traveling. He’s also known for his strong improvisational skills and is passionate about helping students hone their improvisation abilities.
