Laura began playing guitar at thirteen, starting with lessons before teaching herself and exploring music on her own terms. At nineteen she moved to Hawaii, where she picked up the ukulele and later expanded into music production, adding bass to her toolkit and performing as a bass player in a band. She went on to study electric guitar performance at the Atlanta Institute of Music and now performs as the guitarist and singer of her band Blue Dream, playing shows throughout Atlanta.
Her lessons begin by getting to know each student's musical tastes, goals, and reasons for learning their instrument. Laura teaches a wide range of genres and loves helping students start making real music right away through simple songs, approachable scales, and modified parts for younger or brand new players. Over time she incorporates theory in small, manageable steps while creating a supportive space where students feel excited to learn and comfortable asking questions.
Laura loves to travel, spend time in nature, and cook healthy homemade meals. She enjoys many styles of music including Bossanova, Neo Soul, Indie and Surf Rock, and funk.
