Gray Alston

Gray Alston has been playing piano for over 20 years, beginning lessons at age seven. In high school, Gray taught himself acoustic guitar and now enjoys playing a wide range of songs on both instruments. Beyond daily personal practice, Gray regularly plays with a close group of musician friends and has performed at casual shows including breweries and neighborhood block parties.

Gray believes that while you cannot force someone to love music, everyone can find joy in it with the right guidance. Lessons are relaxed and encouraging, blending foundational technique and theory with sound exploration and creativity. Students spend time on both educational pieces and songs they love, with an emphasis on patience, curiosity, and building confidence at their own pace.

A lifelong musician, Gray loves discovering new music and learning new songs, with a soft spot for modern rock, indie, and electronic genres. Outside of music, Gray enjoys traveling, playing soccer, D&D, video games, and diving into great movies, shows, and fantasy novels. Gray is also a big animal lover and is always happy to share stories and photos of a beloved puppy, Piper.
