Cathy Rockoff

Music Teacher

Piano

Cathy began piano lessons at age seven and has been playing ever since, building a strong classical foundation that includes studying with a Juilliard-trained pianist during college. She has extensive experience in both performance and education, including earning a full tuition scholarship to Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia. Alongside her piano background, she is certified to teach ESL and has worked with students from over 45 countries. She also holds a Level 2 Orff Certification from her time teaching elementary music in Fulton County and has accompanied church services across a variety of denominations.

Her teaching style is warm, flexible, and student-centered, focusing on each learner’s interests to keep lessons engaging and meaningful. She blends repertoire students enjoy with essential skills like sight reading, scales, and foundational technique in a balanced, gradual approach. Lessons are kept positive and light, with space for conversation, encouragement, and collaborative problem solving when challenges arise.

Cathy enjoys finding humor in everyday life and brings that same lighthearted energy into her teaching. She loves musicals, easy rock, impressionistic music, and jazz, and enjoys staying active through kayaking, biking, and swimming. She also enjoys attending a wide variety of concerts and staying connected to the broader music world.
