Cathy has been teaching piano for over 35 years. She has a Bachelor’s in Music Education from Wesleyan College and a Master's in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State. While at Wesleyan, Cathy was awarded, “Who’s Who Among American Students”. Cathy taught elementary music for Fulton County Schools for eleven years and prides herself on striving for excellence as a teacher, while also being patient with her students. As a teacher, Cathy expects her students to practice and loves to challenge them in their lessons to find what pieces they are interested in. She described her teaching style as firm yet enthusiastic and loves the energy, honesty, and determination of her students.
Cathy describes her music taste as, “Beatles meet Bossanova” and especially enjoys jazz, musicians from the early 20th century, and classic rock and pop from the 80’s and 90’s. Cathy performs quarterly at a soiree that Natale Farrell hosts in Roswell, and when she is not teaching or playing the piano she loves to hike, ride her bike, swim, and kayak.
