Caroline Lucas

Music Teacher

Piano and Ukulele

Caroline Lucas has played piano since she was eight years old, continuing her lessons through her undergraduate studies. She holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in choral music education with a piano emphasis. Alongside her piano training, Caroline taught herself ukulele in high school, an instrument she has incorporated into every class she has taught. Her experience spans children’s choirs, accompanying, conducting, and private lessons, with teaching ranging from early elementary through college-level courses.

Her goal for every student is to help them become independent, self-motivated musicians. She emphasizes the importance of reading notated music and building a strong foundation in music theory while also encouraging students to discover what they genuinely enjoy in music. By building relationships quickly and connecting with her students on a personal level, she tailors her encouragement and teaching to each individual’s needs. Caroline strives to create a safe, fun, challenging, and positive environment where all students can thrive, regardless of their background or musical interests.

Originally from south Mississippi, Caroline has spent the last three and a half years in Atlanta teaching music to students in kindergarten through fourth grade. When she is not teaching, she enjoys baking, watching fun shows, and playing board games. She loves spending time with her husband, Sam, who is completing his PhD at Georgia Tech. Singing remains close to her heart, and she treasures opportunities to perform duets with friends or make music with family.
