Angie Acedera is a musical multi-hyphenate with a love for a wide variety of genres, including classical and opera, musical theatre, jazz, singer-songwriter, pop, folk, indie, and rock. She has been singing since childhood, starting in church before discovering choir in high school and finding her way into classical and opera. During her undergraduate studies, she fell in love with musical theatre, and she has continued to keep her artistic world rich through graduate school and a wide range of musical experiences. Angie has sung with the Jacksonville Symphony Chorus, performed for churches, bars, and events, provided background vocals for fellow artists, and vocally led a band. She also plays piano, guitar, and ukulele and enjoys accompanying herself when she can.
Angie believes wholeheartedly that anyone can sing! She creates a kind, warm, and welcoming environment where students can come as they are and discover their own true voice. Her lessons are shaped around each student’s passions and goals, combining the fundamentals of theory, sound production, and classical technique with plenty of room for play and exploration. Students can expect to make mistakes, ask questions, sing their favorite songs, and learn that every experience is information. Angie’s goal is to help students develop grounded, authentic, and healthy storytelling and artistry while having fun along the way.
Outside of music, Angie loves the many facets of performance and storytelling, including hair and makeup, costuming, stage design, and lighting. She also enjoys thrifting, being a foodie, swimming, traveling, reading, watching live shows, and spending time with her loved ones and her dog. She brings her curiosity, creativity, and whole heart into everything she does.
