Alexandrea is an Atlanta, Ga native with more than 20 years of performing and recording experience in the music industry. It was at the age of 5 when her gift for singing was discovered by her parents and at the age of 6 when she began her professional performing and recording career. Alexandrea's first television appearance was on the legendary Showtime at the Apollo when she was 7 years old. From there she’s appeared on numerous shows before her teens including The Jenny Jones Show, The Queen Latifah Show and 106&Park. By age 13, Alexandrea had already performed all over the nation and worked with (and performed for) prominent names in the industry including vocal coach Robin Brown, Dallas Austin, Ahmet Ertegun (founder of Atlantic Records), Robert Townsend, Shakim Williams, and Devyne Stephens. She is a stage and studio veteran, recording and performing all over the nation including Miami, Atlanta, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington D.C. and Detroit.
At age ten, she made her stage debut in the Fox Theatre's "Theater of the Stars" production of Annie as well as a earning a costarring role in the Gospel stage play Tell Hell I Ain't Comin (directed Leslie Small).
For over a decade, Alexandrea was a requested National anthem singer for the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Hawks, The City of Atlanta, WNBA, and countless organizations including the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. In 2004, Alexandrea made her next big television appearance on Star Search performing her rendition of "My Funny Valentine". In 2008, Alexandrea was one of the top 20 finalists of season 7 of the hit TV show, "American Idol”. She is known for her performance singing Chicago's "If You Leave Me Now" and her most popular rendition of Blood, Sweat, and Tears', "Spinnin Wheel".
Since 2009, Alexandrea has been building her independent career, working with indie artists of Atlanta as a performer and songwriter. She was a featured artist on Volumes 1 & 2 of SMKA's The 808 Experiment and the Stargazing Tour in 2010. Aside from being an accomplished performing artist, Alexandrea has also cemented herself in the artist development industry by coaching and developing amateur and professional artists in the Atlanta area. Along with graduating from Agnes Scott College ('13 B.A Music) and building her own business, there is more music, creativity, and artistry to come from this unstoppable young woman!
