Have Fun, Get Curious, and Begin a Real Musical Journey?
“I just want to give my child a head start… but I don’t want to force anything too early.”
"Their attention span is all over the place."
They love music, but I don't know where to begin."
If these thoughts have crossed your mind, you’re not alone. We've heard them from countless parents—thoughtful, caring families who know their child is bright, curious, and full of potential but aren't quite sure how to channel it yet. And deep down, many of them share one quiet, unspoken concern:
“I don’t want to miss this window."
Because just like language, a child’s ability to absorb music is at its peak during these early years. The brain is most open to rhythm, sound, pattern, and melody between the ages of 2 and 6. Starting now doesn’t mean pushing your child—it means gently opening a door at the moment it’s naturally wide open.
And the best part? You don’t have to choose between fun and structure. Between joy and development. Between playtime and real learning.
With Music FunTime®, you can give your child all of that—starting earlier than you might expect.
At The Music Studio Atlanta, we’ve seen what happens when young children are invited to explore music in a way that actually makes sense to them. When a 3-year-old begins asking, “Is that a quarter note?” while playing hopscotch, you know they’re not just playing. They’re connecting. They’re learning.
This is not a sing-along circle or a basic rhythm class.
Music FunTime is a research-based music theory curriculum built specifically for children ages 2½ to 6. And we are proud to be the only studio in the Southeast licensed to offer it.
Music FunTime introduces real musical concepts using a blend of color, rhythm, storytelling, movement, and age-appropriate games. The curriculum is grounded in early childhood development research and built to meet children where they are — playful, curious, and ready to explore.Your child won’t just be banging on drums or shaking maracas. They’ll be:
They’re not just having a good time—
They’re building a foundation that can last a lifetime.
Whether your child goes on to play piano, violin, drums—or simply carries a deep love of music into whatever path they choose—this program helps them begin that journey with joy, confidence, and understanding.
Because when you give your child the chance to start early, you’re not just investing in music.
You’re helping them grow, think, and engage with the world in a whole new way.
"My granddaughter LOVES coming to Music Funtime with [our teacher]. She is clearly enjoying every minute. She has already collected a bag full of instruments, "game" cards, learned bouncy songs that illustrate music theory concepts, and done art projects. The latest—recognizing musical notation while playing hopscotch. So creative! My granddaughter told me she thinks of [our teacher] as family. Coming to the Music Studio East Cobb and [our teacher] is a gift that will keep on giving—a strong foundation for learning, confidence, a joy." - Coralie W., Google Review
Music FunTime provides structured classes that use musical crafts, worksheets, games, and instruments to help build a strong musical foundation. Children will learn to read music almost the same way as they learn to read letters and numbers, through colorful teaching tools and engaging activities.
And when your child is ready to move on to private one-on-one music lessons, they will be well-ahead of other children that did not participate in Music FunTime during their preschool years.
Musical Crafts: Music lessons with special music crafts that teach music theory in a fun, artistic way.
Music Theory: Children will learn music the same way they learn to read, by using a variety of teaching tools and worksheets that teach rhythm, pitch, notation, symbols and key signatures.
Musical Instruments: Students will receive a bag of rhythm instruments during registration to use in class and at home. All students are introduced to a wide range instruments, including piano, guitar, percussion, violin, bells, kazoos, flutophones and recorders.
Performance Opportunities: Students enrolled in Music FunTime also have the opportunity a few times a year to participate as a group in our recitals or Open Mics, which provides them with invaluable experiences that help build confidence, self-esteem, and a sense of pride in their musical achievements.
