Janna Herron

Music Teacher

Janna Herron is an accomplished music instructor, renowned for her extensive musical background and dedication to music education. From a young age, Janna demonstrated exceptional musical talent, receiving numerous accolades such as the Mansfield Gold Medal Theory Award & Scholarship for her near-perfect scores in music theory K-12, the Student Affiliate State Participation Award & Scholarship from the Texas Music Teacher Association, and achieving the highest ratings annually in the National Piano Guild Auditions.

Classically trained on piano from age three through college, Janna expanded her musical proficiency to include guitar, voice, and viola, the latter of which she played in All-Region orchestra. She holds a degree in music therapy, having completed rigorous practicums in diverse settings, including schools for children with autism and a children's hospital. Her career encompasses roles as a piano accompanist for school districts, church pianist, keyboardist for a traveling band, and more. She has also been involved in composing, songwriting, and performing at various competitions and events.

Janna’s teaching philosophy centers on a student-driven approach, aiming to connect with each student personally and foster a nurturing environment that encourages self-expression and musical exploration. She is passionate about building a strong foundational knowledge among her students to enhance their love for music and ability to express themselves. In addition to her musical pursuits, Janna is a published author and enjoys blogging, arts and crafts, and songwriting, reflecting her deep love for creativity in all its forms.
